…do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.
— Isaiah 41:10
Many of y’all know me as “The Community Running Guy.”
I love to run with other people. That said, I do go on a lot of solo runs, but generally, I love to run with others or at least be part of a group run.
There is something about running with others that really makes you feel supported, encouraged, and motivated. When you’re struggling, someone is there to push you forward. When you’re feeling strong, you can help lift up those around you. Running partners keep you accountable, challenge you, and remind you that you’re not alone.
Isaiah 41:10 reminds us that God is our running partner through life. Whether we feel strong or weary, whether the path ahead is smooth or full of obstacles, God runs beside us. We don’t have to fear the miles ahead because we are never truly alone.
Just as a good running partner offers encouragement and strength, God strengthens us when we feel weak. Just as a group run provides accountability, God walks with us, reminding us to stay the course. And just as we sometimes need to lean on others, we can lean on God, trusting that God will uphold us when we are struggling.
So the next time you lace up your shoes, whether you’re running with a group or heading out solo, remember—God is with you. Every step, every mile, every struggle, and every triumph, you are not alone.
Reflection Question: How does knowing that God is with you change the way you face challenges, both in running and in life?
